Hello, I’m the Mexican American Mexican.

My name’s Todd, but you can call me Tadeo. I came to Mexico 15 years ago to find my roots and ended up an immigrant to the country my family fled.

I’m an anxious introvert who loves maps, homemade flour tortillas, hiking in the woods and comics. When I’m not blogging, you can usually find me in my kitchen, at the market or walking the streets of Mexico City trying not to be run down by one of the five million cars clogging the capital.

This is where I chronicle my adventures in and out of the kitchen—with a recipe thrown in from time to time. My nerdy fascination with Mexican food culture pushes me to learn as much as I can about local ingredients, traditional cooking techniques and our constantly evolving eating habits. I also bitch and moan from time to time because life in the Mexican capital is not for the faint of heart.

Though my current day job is as an editor, I’ve also worked as an English teacher, a legal secretary, a bread deliveryman, a hotel houseman and a sales associate at the Gap. (I can still fold sweaters like nobody’s business.)

Follow me on Instagram and Facebook (if you’re into that sort of thing). If you’d like to reach out to me directly, you can contact me here.
